Some tips on
getting the best result in your final print:
While our work
is highly detailed and we take pride in giving you the absolute
best, there are things you can do to ensure that your final photo
print meets
your expectations. It starts with the scanning:
Before scanning your photo,
lightly dust the surface of your photo and your scanner with a
clean, lint-free cloth (a cloth that leaves no fluff). Do not use
water or chemicals on the photo.
Make sure that your scanner is
set to a high resolution. Try to scan at a resolution of 300dpi or
higher, though 300dpi will give good results. Most e-mail handlers
today can handle the larger files size this requires, but if
you're having problems, consider a free Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail
account. I will be happy to help you with this.
When saving the photo, only save
it once as a .jpg file. Repeated saving in .jpg reduces the
quality of the photo further.
When printing,
it is in your own interest to use the highest quality inks and
paper or have a photo lab print it. It may seem expensive, but the
finished result will be worth it. It will also mean a
longer-lasting result. Of course, we offer a scanning and printing
service too, but for purposes of practicality and preserving old
photos, we don't recommend regular mail.

questions at all regarding the scanning and final printing of your
